Oasis - Lord Don’t Slow Me Down (Big Brother)

Big Brother Recordings’ promo CDs come with the warning that they are ‘unique and traceable’, that their use may be monitored, and that ‘appropriate action’ will be taken ‘in respect of any misuse. Big Brother indeed.

Oasis’ first ever download-only single, and the title track of a forthcoming documentary film, Lord Don’t Slow Me Down was, according to its ever-modest composer, released at their record company because it is so damn fantastic.

Not so. That Noel’s vocal is worrying news, though it’s fair to say that he’s kind of found his voice in the last few years (hear also The Importance of being Idle).

Elsewhere, a caveman riff (spot the Kasabian influence) is effective enough and prominent tambourine serves to emphasis the fact that the mute Liam is still involved.

Decent by their recent standards, not by their former ones.

Released on October 22
